From Beatrix to Beatripod
Bea became The Amazing Beatripod in September of 2020. The diagnosis of bone cancer was not what we had hoped for, but her recovery from surgery and the ease with which she went through chemotherapy has been amazing, and I want to share as much info as I can. If your dog has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma or another bone cancer, if you’re considering amputation or chemotherapy, I hope this will be helpful for you.
Beatrix was born on July 26, 2011, and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in early September, 2020. Her front right leg was amputated on September 18th and she began chemotherapy about 5 weeks later.
I have broken this down into several sections, please use the menu to navigate through. The first section is Symptoms.
If you’d like to see the Instagram stories I posted in realtime as we went through this process, here’s a link to the Beatripod Instagram highlight.
